"Everywhere
you look there is an award site on the web. 'What makes the A.Q.S.G.award
any different?' I hear you say.
Well for one thing, the person who owns the award site makes the final judgment on your web-site. It is all down to that persons taste and what he/she believes to be theperfect site. Not here. You web-site is judged by a panel of the A.Q.S.G. members, each one hashad experience building web-sites and knows what you have gone through. They will judge your site and once the votes are collected, you will receiveyour award. I think that isthe right way as each site has a good chance of receiving an award thatequals the design level of their web-site." -Admiral
Michael Hunt, AQSG.

There are thousands
of Star Trek sites on the net and that number is increasing every day.
One thing we look for is originality, i.e. original ideas. Allot of ST sites are quite similar in every aspect, be it graphics or design. We are always on the look out for new designs and concepts that set sites apart from others. |
Well this is a StarTrek award, so the site has to have Star Trek content in some form. Sitesthat are fully devoted to Star Trek will receive a higher award than asite which has a small amount of information, but it will be judged according to content. Sites with no Trek content need not apply. Generally, it must not be commercially oriented nor should there be any pornography and other distasteful elements within. |
Content would beone of the first things the judging panel would look for, but the design and layout of the web-site would be just as important. Graphics shouldideally be mostly original, and the layout be distinctly unique. However, stunning graphics are not necessary, just as long as it promotes the readingof the text and stays unobtrusively in the background, it's fine. |
Sites should becomplete. Any site that is undergoing a major overhaul, will not be considered, until it is complete. Broken links and images will be a deciding factorin what award you will receive. |
This is the endproduct of your design. It distinguishes average sites from the Trek giants on the web. Clear navigation, clarity of writing, distinctive graphics, original ideas, and volume of content all contribute to this characteristic. |
Every member ofthe
AQSG Awards judging panel are fans of sci-fi and in particular, Star
Trek. Each member has his/her own vision of the perfect Trek site and will rate it according to whether they liked it or not. Then once the votes have been collected, the average rank will be chosen and thiswill be the award given. The decision of the panel is final. |

For a web-site tobe worthy of the Latinum award, it would have to be almost perfect. Great layout design, easy to follow navigation. No dead or broken links. In all honesty, it would have to be flawless. This coveted award is notfor the faint hearted.
The Gold award is for sites that are on the verge of becoming great ones. A mixture of graphics and text. Well laid out and easy to follow. A joy to explore.
Overall a site withexcellent
content and a good design with plenty of room for improvement. The
Silver
award sites show development and design
potential that sets it above the average page. |
|
A site that showspotential in both design and content. The Bronze award showsthat there is something special about the page that warrants recognition. |
then one of thefollowing images will be incorporated into the A.Q.S.G award. |
